The 1 division of the Mexican football league was founded in 1943 with only 6 teams like America, Necaxa, Atlante, Asturias, Real Club España y Deportivo Marte, but now it  is the most important professional Mexican soccer league and this league has 18 clubs, which are divided in three groups. During the year there are two tournaments Closing and Opening, before named summer and hibernate. After they finish the 17 games, there is a small tournament, where  the best 2 of every group and also the best 3 places are classified.

Las Chivas del Guadalajara are the team with the most championships, since they have 11, then America with 10, then Toluca with 9 and then Cruz Azul with 8 titles. Between these teams the classic that are the most important are the Young man Classic, that is between América and Cruz Azulbut the most important is The Classic one of Classics that is between América and Chivas.

But not everything is good, because the teams that don’t win are at a risk of descending to the asceding league and with this other team have the opportunity to ascend to the first division and the team that ascend it cannot relax, because it has to win the majority of his matches, to be able to be saved from the decrease.

Also there are individual trophies, such as the best player of the year and also the player that makes more goals during the tournament.

Nowadays the champion is Pumas that obtains its 6th  title and the team that ascended were Gallos Blancos de Queretaro.
