Guanajuato – “Cervantino”


MainGuanajuato is a cultural place where there are  a lot of international cultural festivals.  One of them and the most important is the “Cervantino” that is every year in October.

In this festival, there are two guests, one of Mexico and other from an international place.

This event is organized in the whole Guanajuato’s city, the streets are full 2of visitors and tourists of the world. There are a lot of stores where you can buy things of the cultures of Mexico. You can also visit places of hippies where you can find things about them with an accessible price, such as bracelets, t-shirts, etc. You can come for the mini events where you can see traditional dances, orchestrates, plays done by the guests of every city. This year the guests were Zacatecas from Mexico and Quebec as an international city.

The Festival offers an annual average of 450 functions, catching about 500 thousand spectators in Guanajuato’s cities and León. The Festival bring us the best opera, music, dance, theatre, visual arts, cinema and academic activities, moving thousands of persons  from different points of the Mexican Republic and of the world to Guanajuato.

    Up here in America we have a lot of fesivals, but not as interesting as the ones in Mexico. I like to celebrate my culture as you also do. My favorite one is “New Years”, a new start and anything can happen.

    There are a lot of festivals in America… some even with the same kind of set-up.

    I agree. Have visited Cervantino in 2007 but mainly took advantage of the partying part of it. Jajajjaja. Will go back soon if God allow sme to do so.

    Here in the states I don’t run into the many festivals like in Mexico or other Latin American countries that catch my eye.
    Definitely celebrate cultural festivals like Peruvian, Colombian, Puerto Rican, Bolivian & Viet Nam.

    It’s all about the good times.
